[NYC] Totto Ramen - My Favorite Ramen Joint

Chicken Paitan Ramen
Probably my favorite ramen shop in the entire world is Totto Ramen. Watanabe Ramen in Tokyo,  however, is a very close second. Actually, now that I think of it, Watanabe may be my favorite, but for different reasons. Katana Ya is also worth a try if you're in San Francisco.

If you find yourself in New York City, make sure to check out Totto Ramen. It's nearby Columbus Circle and a few blocks way from the Times Square hubbub.

Remember, Totto is CASH ONLY, so come prepared! If you don't, you have to use one of those sketchy ATMs in a creepy alley.

[NYC] Rue 57

My parents came to NYC to celebrate my graduation with me. We had planned to go to a Quality Italian, but I didn't realize that we could make reservations. Rookie move. We got there and there was a 2.5 hour wait. No bueno.

FYI you can make reservations and must make reservations to go to Quality Italian (and Quality Meats for that matter) otherwise you have the option of eating in the bar. The hostess said that it was full menu and bar is first come first served.

So, since the parentals were hungry and tired, we decided to go across the street to Rue 57. I had been meaning to go here for some time, but just never got around to going. I really wanted to go to the brunch. so we decided to give it a try for dinner.

Rue 57 is a fusion (Asian-French) restaurant located on 57th Street, right by Columbus Circle.

[Seoul, Osaka] Fugetsu - Okonomiyaki (Japanese pancake) and Japanese noodles

Fugetsu (후게츠) is a chain restaurant that sells Japanese food, namely okonomiyaki (Japanese pancakes) and yakisoba (fried noodles). I have been to the three locations in Seoul (Gangnam, Hongdae, and Myungdong), but there are more around the world. So, even if you're not in Seoul, I would recommend checking it out. There is also a Fugetsu store in Dotonbori in Osaka, if you really want to try it, but there are plenty of other places in Osaka to try before you go to this chain.

[Seoul, Sinchon] Hanul Bon Dak - Dak Galbi (Spicy chicken)

One of my favorite Korean foods is dakgalbi (spicy Korean chicken). When I was living in Sinchon, there were two places I visited rather frequently.

Hanul Bon Dak is really conveniently located on the main street in Sinchon, next to the Artbox.
