[DC - Capitol Hill] We the Pizza - Pizza by the slice

When I'm in DC, one of my favorite places to grab a slice is We the Pizza. It is located in Capitol Hill, right next to Good Stuff Eatery.

I am also a huge sucker for a restaurant with a punny name.

When you enter the restaurant, you are met with a bar and you can see which pizzas they are featuring that day. You choose which slice you want and then order at the register. The price is generally $3-$4 per slice, a little bit pricier than some other places. These slices are ginormous and are easily a meal in and of themselves.

If you want to eat in, they give you a buzzer and you can go upstairs and find a place to sit. There are around 40-50 seats available, split between two large rooms and most of the seats available are booth-style seating.

I usually order the Forest Shroomin' pizza which is made with wild forest mushrooms, truffles, and mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses. It has a really rich flavor, without being overly cheesy.

This day, I decided to go with one of their specials. They were doing a flavor tour of America, so I ordered the New Orleans-inspired free-range chicken and andouille sausage pizza.

If you're there with a large group, you can order medium-size pizzas for $18 and large-size pizzas for $20. You can also order wings and salads. The wings are about $1 per wing, but you get a slight discount if you order larger amounts of wings.

We the Pizza also has lunch specials. You can order 2 slices and a soda for $10 or a pizza and a salad and soda for $10. They have homemade sodas, like pineapple and sassparilla. I really enjoy their ginger soda.
They also serve a variety of beers on tap.
