Honey - Browser Extension - Save Money while Online Shopping

Honey is a Google Chrome/Firefox extension that you can enable. It pops up when you're checking out at online shopping sites like Amazon or Walmart, among other sites. It curates all of the shopping coupon codes for those sites and, if one is applicable to your order, it will popup telling you about it and then let you apply it to your order.

[NYC - Soho] Soft Swerve - Soft serve ice cream (purple sweet potato and lychee)

Soft serve ice cream has become a big thing these days...maybe because it's so darn Instagrammable?

[Korea] Kim Seonsaeng - Premium kimbap and mandu 바르다 김선생

This is one of my favorite premium kimbap places - Kim Seonsaeng, or how my Norwegian friend and I refer to it, KIM TEACHER.

Its full name is 바르다 김선생. It's a national chain, so you should be able to find it other places.

[Seoul - Yeoksam, Hongdae] Cafe Arriate - Flower cafe (second location in Hongdae)

I just wanted to introduce you to one of my favorite flower cafes in Seoul! It's called Arriate (아리아떼).

I stumbled upon this cafe as I was going to one of my side jobs one day and made a mental note to come back and visit. The original store is in Yeoksam, but in writing this post, I found out they just opened a new location in Hongdae.

As I have mentioned tons of times by now, I love going to Daiso to shop for snacks. I had to pick up these Jagabee potato sticks in wasabi since I have never tried them before.

[Beauty] Garnier SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water

As I was living in Korea, I jumped on the micellar water trend.

All my friends in America were raving about how great the Garnier SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water, but it wasn't available in Korea, so I had to wait to get back to America to try it.

Founding Farmers is a farm to table restaurant with four locations in the greater DC area. It is owned by almost 5,000 farmers across the country, who supply the restaurants.

Founding Farmers

Sorry about the lack of pictures...I would hand-draw some, but...yeah..stick figures eating cornbread and burgers are probably not the best.

[Korea - Seoul, Jongak] Jilhal Bros - Takeout chicken over rice

Since I first wrote about Jilhal Bros back in 2015, it has become somewhat of a chain throughout Seoul.

I decided to give it another go, this time at the location in the shopping arcade by Jongak Station/across from Seoul Global Center and Immigration (perfect for a lunch/dinner on the go before or after you go to SGC or immigration).

[Osaka - Shinsaibashi] Elk - Fluffy Japanese pancakes and 3D latte art

One of my major goals during my last two trips to Osaka was to get 3D latte art and fluffy pancakes. Actually, the 3D latte art goal was a major goal for me even as I was living in Kobe.

I finally achieved my goal during my most recent trip at Elk, a cute cafe in Shinsaibashi.

[Korea] Incheon Airport to Seoul (or Seoul to Incheon Airport) NIGHT BUS

Have you ever had the panic about how to get back into Seoul from Incheon airport after a flight delay? I definitely did. Luckily there's a night bus!

You don't have to take a pricey cab ride that may end up being one of those sketchy cabs that prey on foreign tourists or sleep in the airport until the first train/bus.

[Snack Attack] Daiso Snack Haul

If you're traveling to Korea or living in Korea, you have to check out Daiso. Daiso is a Japanese dollar store that literally sells everything you could ever want and stuff you never knew you wanted. I took my mom there when she visited because she wanted to pick up some token gifts/souvenirs from Korea.

[Seoul, Sinchon] Mibundang/Mifendang Vietnamese cuisine (미분당)

Mibundang 미분당 is one of my favorite places to get pho in Seoul! It's not one of those huge chains and quality ingredients are used and the prices are below 10,000 KRW!
Service is fast and efficient and the food is always prepared to order and is piping hot.

[NYC - Upper West Side] Maison Pickle - NYC Brunch and cocktails

We meant to go to Jacob's Pickles for brunch, but it was full (with a 2-hour wait...at about 2:30 on a Saturday), so we decided to go to it's younger brother, Maison Pickle instead, which is just a block away.

[NYC, Midtown, K-town] Her Name is Han - Instagrammable hip, trendy, modern Korean food and cocktails

I have been meaning to visit Her Name is Han for a month or so now because I've been seeing it all over Instagram.

REPOST: Singapore itinerary: Seoul to Singapore

REPOST: Just in time for Chuseok.

Sometimes I need a break from Seoul, this was one of those times.

[Seoul, Myeongdong] Ranju Kalmyeon - Fresh knife cut noodles, Chinese food

Ranju Kalmyeon (란주칼면) is one of my favorite places to eat in Myeongdong. It's not overly touristy and isn't a chain, which is a pretty big feat for Myungdong.

[Seoul, Yangjae] Coffeeplant - Flaky, fluffy croissants and in-house roasted coffee beans

I first stumbled into Coffeeplant because I was searching for a nice crusty bread loaf for a Secret Santa present for my coworker and the place I scoped out the day before didn't open until 10 and I had to be to work by 9.

[Minnesota - Stillwater] Lift Bridge Brewing Company - Craft brewery

Today's post is a guest post written by my mother.

A quiet Saturday afternoon is a good time for a scenic drive to a brewery and its taproom in a scenic town, so Mike and I visited Lift Bridge Brewing Company, yesterday (1900 Tower Drive W, Stillwater, MN, http://liftbridgebrewery.com/).

[Jeju Souvenir] Hallabong Omegi Dduk / Omaegi rice cake 몰랑몰랑 한라봉 오메기떡

Apparently, according to one of my former coworkers, one of the souvenirs you have to get in Jeju is omegi dduk (오메기떡). His wife sent him on a mission to bring it back with him.

It's good to know this if you work at a Korean Korean or a Japanese company. Whenever you go on a trip, whether it be for business or pleasure. you should bring back some token gift for your company/team members and you should also bring some back for your close friends. This gift-giving culture is very strong in Japan, like even as a foreigner, you won't get a pass...and likely someone will tell you about it the first time you mess up (spoken from experience).
