[Jeju Souvenir] Hallabong Omegi Dduk / Omaegi rice cake 몰랑몰랑 한라봉 오메기떡

Apparently, according to one of my former coworkers, one of the souvenirs you have to get in Jeju is omegi dduk (오메기떡). His wife sent him on a mission to bring it back with him.

It's good to know this if you work at a Korean Korean or a Japanese company. Whenever you go on a trip, whether it be for business or pleasure. you should bring back some token gift for your company/team members and you should also bring some back for your close friends. This gift-giving culture is very strong in Japan, like even as a foreigner, you won't get a pass...and likely someone will tell you about it the first time you mess up (spoken from experience).

[Korea] Coffee Namu - Coffee and Cake Cafe!

My friend and I were trying to get to All That Sweets (check out my previous post), but I had misremembered the closing time, so that was a no go :(
We wandered around the area and had a hankering for some dessert still.  Luckily, in Seoul, crave and it will appear.
(This is a chain, by the way, so you can find it many places! Just look for 커피나무

[K-Beauty] Missha Magic Cusion Moisture N23

I've been using cushion foundation for a while now. I have been using the Iope Air Cushion
I've switched to the Missha Magic Cushion Moisture since Iope re-worked their formulas and colors and the new colors didn't match me as well as the old, old version did.

Relocation back to USA

Hi all,
Sorry for going MIA.
If you follow my Instagram (you should totally follow me if you don't already), you know that I relocated back to the USA from Korea about a month ago.

Sorry about the lack of posts! I have been busy adjusting back to life in the United States and it's been taking a lot of energy.

I'm currently in Minnesota (so, got some posts for that coming up) and went on a trip to Boston and Canada a couple of weeks ago (keep an eye out for those posts coming soon) and I still have a lot of info to share with you about my Japan trip, last couple months in Korea (post-hospital stay at Severance...terrible hospital, btw.), and Singapore.

Basically, just STAY TUNED!

Also, if you need anything from Amazon...ever, please click through one of the banners on my blog! I plan on doing a snack and/or beauty haul from there soon enough...and you'll be helping me finance that! (I get a small super small.)

[Japan] Osaka Itinerary (5 days, 4 nights)

This is a recount of my itinerary for my relaxing 5 days, 4 nights (April 16-20) in Osaka. Check out my other posts about previous trips to Japan and Osaka and Kyoto and my time living in Kobe.

Since this was a relaxing trip to visit my friend, it's not so tourist-y this time. If you're looking for a more tourist itinerary, check out my post from my Chuseok trip to Osaka/Kansai in 2016.

How to order 2018 Winter Olympics for the Pyeongchang 2018 Olympics

Just sharing this information since I have received multiple inquiries from readers about how to buy tickets after I posted my previous post about how to get into the lottery for FOREIGN RESIDENTS.

I got this information from the April 2017 US State Department Newsletter for registered Americans in Korea.

To individuals who want to go to the Pyeonchang 2018 Olympics in Korea  and do NOT have a ARC (alien registration number - ID number), you can only order it through this website:
- Available for citizens of: Australia, Bulgaria, Norway, Russia, Sweden, and the United States

Scoot Airways review: Incheon (Korea) to Changi (Singapore) by way of Taipei (Taiwan)

TL:DR, but please read

Scoot is a cheap charter airline and you get what you pay for.
Weigh your options because of the limited flight schedule between Incheon/Korea and Singapore, there may be issues if..for example, Scoot gets in another accident.

I would probably never fly it again, but if, for example, you're a budget traveler or student, it may be a good option for you.

For a flight that is 6+ hours direct, I would probably not risk taking a charter again...

[Travel Itinerary] Seoul to Singapore (5 days, 4 days)

Sometimes I need a break from Seoul, this was one of those times.
Even though Singapore is another huge city, it was a great change of pace!

[Seoul - Yonhuidong] Michin Nogari 미친노가리 beer pub

After samgyetang, we decided to go out for a drink!

It's called 미친노가리, which means something like crazy young pollack.

[K-Beauty] Clean & Clear Clear Fairness Lotion

Some American brands, like Clean and Clear, have products that are only available in Asia/Korea. One of the items that I keep purchasing is this Clear Fairness lotion by Clean&Clear.

Sorry! My schedule got all messed up because I was on vacation to Singapore last week. This is to make up for yesterday's missed K-beauty post.

[Life in Korea] SodaTransfer! - Easiest, cheapest way to transfer money USA <--> Korea

SodaTransfer! <-- click here to get a free transfer/transaction! (save up to $45)

I just found out about this service! This is one of the cheapest and most secure ways to transfer money between Korean and American bank accounts. It's perfect for foreign workers and international/exchange students living in Korea.

I have been sick and tired of losing so much money transferring money between my Korean and American bank accounts and also suffering the loss because my Korean bank account has terrible rates (I do not recommend Woori Bank for your Korean banking needs as a foreigner).

Right now, the service only works between the USA and Korea (and vice versa).

It's quite easy and the customer service is super responsive and helpful/accommodating.

For example, my Korean bank account is registered in my Korean name, but my American name is my legal name everywhere else in the world (yet another Korea problem) and is the only one that appears on my passport/bank account details, etc.

They were quick to offer a solution.

Then, the problem didn't stop there. Woori capped my account at 1 million KRW transfer per day and they were willing to wait for me to send money over the course of three days and honored the first day's rate.

The one downside, you are capped at $20,000 per year and also 3 million KRW per transfer.
It also makes math confusing...because I think they did the whole 1000 KRW = 1 USD in determining the cap.

Anyway, try it out! Sodatransfer waived transfer fees (save up to $45)
