[Seoul - Itaewon] Tom N Toms Black - Banana Milk Latte

I got the banana milk latte from Tom N Toms Black in Itaewon. Banana milk has always been "in" in Korea, but now it's truly IN.

If you're not familiar yet with Tom N Toms Black, a lot of Korean cafes are kind of switching to two tiers of prices. The regular and the black level. The black is the premium level.

Honestly, I am not sure if the quality of the products are any different, the ambiance is just a little different. For example, the layout of the Tom N Toms Black stayed the same from its Tom N Toms days, but the tables and chairs and other interior design changed. It's a little darker color palette, so maybe that's more "regal" or something? There's also artwork and stuff. I mean, I guess the atmosphere of the cafe is nicer, but does it warrant the increased price? Undecided.

On to the drink, the prices were ridiculous here! Everything was like 6,000 KRW or more! I couldn't believe it!

I ended up choosing the banana milk latte because 1) it was at night, so no caffeine for me, 2) it was 6,500 KRW, but came with the FREE mason jar mug to take home, so I decided it should be kind of worth it. They also had a banana chocolate milk latte option, too.

However, the flavor was SO artificial. I kind of thought it would be like the banana milk at the convenience store. It was, but it wasn't. They added so much more artificial banana flavoring than even the most artificial of artificial banana milks and so much syrup. It was a really rich flavor, too.

One other thing to note, this is served HOT! I've never had hot banana milk before, so maybe that was part of my confusion.

It was kind of cute, though. There was a banana gummy on top of the drink.

I am not sure if this drink is available at regular Tom N Toms, or how long it will be available. It was the "new menu" item. Sometimes those items get added to the main menu, but sometimes they're a seasonal, trial-type promotion.

Also, a good thing to note. This is a perfect place for people watching. It's located right on the main road of Itaewon. Also, I believe this is 24 hours, so it's perfect to go here if you are waiting for the first train.

Verdict:
Your kids will love it.
Banana milk lovers will love it.
Not for the lactose intolerant.
Gotta try everything once.
