[Seoul - Myeongdong] StyleNanda Pink Hotel and Pink Pool Cafe - Rooftop Cafe

For all you Instagrammers out there, make sure you check out the StyleNanda Pink Pool Cafe next time you're in Seoul!

I've been failing at k-beauty posts recently. I have a lot of content, just haven't gotten around to posting about it. Sorry!

Today's post is k-beauty adjacent though! I'll try to get back on track.

StyleNanda is a semi-newish k-beauty brand. By semi-newish, I mean, I only started noticing it in maybe 2016. And, the only reason why I noticed it is because my Japanese friend requested some products from there when I visited her over Chuseok in 2016 [this trip, in case you were wondering].

From the customer base of the cafe and the makeup store below, I would definitely say that it skewed Japanese. Even though there are so many more Chinese tourists in Myeongdong, I'd say about 90% of the customers in this store were Japanese.

This is the exterior of the StyleNanda store. It's super pink, you can't miss it.

The design is styled after a hotel, so there's a little directory of sorts. The first couple of floors are makeup. Then the third floor is clothing and accessories, with makeup mixed in. The top floor is the cafe and the rooftop is also the cafe.

This is the entryway. I'm sure you've seen this all over Instagram. 

In case you were wondering, the tube is the item my Japanese friend requested. She said that it became super famous in Japan. So, if you are in need of a gift for a Japanese female friend, you might consider buying one.

We finally made it up to the "laundry room." This is where they sell the clothing items. It's definitely more like streetwear clothing, aka stuff I'll never be cool enough to wear...kind of like how I feel whenever I'm in Amerikamura in Osaka to eat my roast beef bowl.

This is the cafe menu (click to enlarge). There's a very strict one menu item per person rule. As in, we just wanted ice cream, but my friend had to add on a lemonade when I was sitting saving our seats on the rooftop.

This is the rooftop lounge area. They are VERY STRICT about who can go up here. You MUST buy one cafe item per person. Some girls (and guys) tried to sneak up here to just take pictures, but they were quickly told to leave. As in, the CCTV you see is not fake and they actually send staff members up to check receipts and count numbers of people in the group and number of items bought.

The trees are real, the grass is astroturf.

Everything is branded so well. I was a little iffy because it seemed like it might be kind of gross and dirty, but it wasn't actually too bad. It was actually kind of comfortable.

This is our cotton candy ice cream and lemonade. The lemonade is a Korean "ade," so it's lemon lime soda base (like a Chilsung or the like) and then some lemon juice in it. Unlike a lot of other cafes, this is made with REAL LEMONS. As in, they squeezed it and there was pulp inside. It was also not too sweet. So, I would definitely recommend it if you're not a huge fan of how sugary cafe drinks are in Korea.

The cotton candy ice cream, however, was PURE SUGAR. My Singapore friend and I were both adults and, while we both enjoyed the visual appearance of the cotton candy ice cream, eating it got a little tiring after like two bites.

Like a bald man with his toupe removed, everything looks a little different. I would like to point out that they are very generous with the scoops of ice cream. AND it's Haagen Dazs ice cream. 

I would definitely recommend trying this place next time you're in Myeongdong. The cafe items are actually pretty high quality. I was a little skeptical because it was so cute and so pink that I thought they were just going to upcharge us for taking cute pictures. But, I got it all wrong.

Would definitely recommend if you have an Instagrammer in your group!
